When I was young, at a certain time every year, some men carrying a net bag dug out something from the front hill of Wolmyeongdong and went down taking it with them.
I did not know [what it was] because I was young.
When I found out later on, song-i(matsutake) mushroom, which is very expensive, had been produced [there] as much as to fill up a big net bag; so those who knew it rejoiced and dug and took them.
From the following year, knowing that fact, my father dug and brought home the song-i mushroom before people coming from other regions, so we could eat it every year.
As for me, even while eating that expensive song-i mushroom, I wondered, ‘Why do we eat this? It has no taste.’
If you eat it without knowing, even that expensive food has no taste.
Later on, when I was developing Wolmyeongdong, a person from Seoul gave me a gift, saying that he brought something valuable, for his son was hired to a high-level official position. It was song-i mushroom.
He said he paid thirty dollars per mushroom at that time.
When I ate it then, it was so delicious.
It was delicious because I was eating knowing all about it.
You must follow, knowing who the Savior is and believing and loving them; then you will follow valuably, while being elated and rejoicing.
- From the morning message on November 16, 2013 -
